GALACTINNOV
Innovations for high-quality milk and dairy products from sustainable production that respects the environment and animal welfare and health
GALACTINNOV'S MISSION
The GALACTINNOV International Research Network project brings together 10 INRAE research units/teams and 4 Quebec universities, grouped within the Op+lait cluster, around a common goal of high-quality dairy production that respects the environment and animal welfare and health. The network's activities will focus on three main themes: sustainable dairy production, more sustainable management of animal health and welfare, and high-quality milk and processed products.
These objectives are in line with the priorities of INRAE and the Fonds de Recherche du Québec (FRQ) :

Cooperation in scientific information and documentation, particularly through the exchange of scientific publications and journals on the Network's theme.

The implementation of potential exchanges of researchers on the Network's theme, including researchers and teacher-researchers, postdoctoral researchers, doctoral students, master's students, and undergraduate students on research internships.
Ultimately, this network will increase the visibility of research conducted within INRAE and the Op+lait cluster and develop new international collaborations by stimulating multidisciplinary approaches.
SIGNING OF THE AGREEMENT
The agreement for the GALACTINNOV International Research Network (2RI) was signed on Friday, May 7, 2021, during a virtual meeting hosted by Marie-Josée Hébert, Vice-Rector for Research, Discovery, Creation, and Innovation at Université de Montréal, and Philippe Mauguin, President and CEO of INRAE. This launch event was attended by representatives and scientists from the eight partners of the Franco-Canadian network: INRAE, Institut Agro, Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire de Toulouse, Université de Tours in France and Université de Montréal, Université Laval, Université de Sherbrooke and McGill University in Quebec, Canada.
The GALACTINNOV network structures a fruitful collaboration between ten research units under the supervision of French partner institutions and four Quebec universities, grouped together within Op+lait.
