It is always a great pleasure to meet in person a large portion of our members and partners! This year, our Annual Scientific Meeting, together with the “Mammary Gland, Milk – Galactinnov” session, was held at the Saint-Hyacinthe Convention Centre on October 15 and 16, with colleagues from France in attendance.

All these elements contributed to making this edition a true success. The first day was marked by a rich program of presentations focusing on the effects of climate change on milk stability, as well as on the well-being of cows and producers.

​

In the afternoon, we enjoyed our must-see Lait’clair, a dynamic session in which students present their research projects in just a few minutes.

​

Our co-directors, Simon Dufour and Juan Carlos Arango Sabogal, together with the Communications Officer, Aida Minguez, then presented the latest news from the cluster, including the activity report and the knowledge-transfer plan. The day concluded with the presentation of the Knowledge Transfer Awards, the Lait’clair awards for the best student presentations, a fun activity organized by the student committee, and, of course, a cocktail reception.

The following day was devoted to microbiology and epidemiology, two central themes for our scientific community.

To close these two days, we had the opportunity to attend the conference-workshop led by Mélanie Paul, a moment that was both moving and inspiring, allowing us to learn more about Indigenous Peoples and their recent history. The workshop, focused on understanding our values and intentions, led us to reflect on how to apply them in our workplaces—a great opportunity to develop empathy and enrich our professional relationships.
